MasterChef star Gregg Wallace has denied making any inappropriate comments after the BBC launched an investigation into alleged “sexual” remarks made by the TV personality.
The BBC confirmed that they had received complaints about Wallace’s behavior during filming of the popular cooking show, with some viewers claiming that he had made suggestive comments towards female contestants.
However, Wallace has strongly denied the allegations, stating that he was “shocked and saddened” by the accusations. In a statement released by his representatives, Wallace said, “I would never make any comments that could be construed as inappropriate or offensive. I have always conducted myself professionally on and off screen, and I am deeply upset by these false claims.”
The BBC has stated that they take all complaints seriously and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. A spokesperson for the network said, “We are aware of the complaints made against Gregg Wallace and we are taking them very seriously. We have launched an investigation and will take appropriate action if necessary.”
Wallace has been a judge on MasterChef since 2005 and has become a fan favorite for his enthusiastic and passionate approach to food. He has also appeared on other cooking shows such as Eat Well for Less and Inside the Factory.
Fans of the show have rallied around Wallace, with many taking to social media to express their support for the TV star. One fan tweeted, “I have been a fan of Gregg Wallace for years and I truly believe that these allegations are completely unfounded. I stand by him and will continue to support him no matter what.”
It remains to be seen what the outcome of the BBC investigation will be, but Wallace’s denial of the allegations may help to clear his name in the eyes of both fans and critics. In the meantime, viewers will have to wait and see how the situation unfolds as the investigation continues.
