Police Scotland have launched a fresh appeal for information in the search for a missing man who was last seen in John O’Groats one year ago.
The man, identified as 32-year-old James Anderson, was reported missing on July 15, 2020, after he was last seen in the popular tourist destination in the far north of Scotland. Despite extensive searches and appeals for information, James has not been located and his family and friends are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.
Police Scotland have released a new image of James in the hope that it will jog the memories of anyone who may have seen him in the past year. He is described as being 6ft tall, with a slim build, short brown hair, and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey jogging bottoms, and black trainers.
Detective Inspector Karen Ross, who is leading the investigation, said: “It has now been a year since James was last seen in John O’Groats and his family are desperate for answers. We are appealing to anyone who may have seen James or has any information on his whereabouts to come forward and speak to us.
“We have conducted extensive searches in the area and followed up on numerous leads, but unfortunately we have not been able to locate James. We are urging anyone with information, no matter how small, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information on James’ whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 123456789. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
